Assistant Translator Position Open at the

Dear All

The China Center is hiring an assistant translator for this summer paid at an
hourly rate of $13
without tuition benefits. This appointment maybe extended to the next
academic year. The
position is open until filled.



Duties:

Translate documents and certificates from English to Chinese and Chinese to
English; develop
the Chinese language web content for the China Center website; serve as an
interpreter for
visitors as needed; assist with miscellaneous China Center correspondence and
general
office duties; provide general administration support for the China Center.



Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL: B.A. or equivalent experience to total four years; fluency in both
English and
Mandarin; excellent cross-cultural communication skills; some office
experience.

PREFERRED: Experience working in a multi-cultural setting; formal training in
translation
or interpretation.



Hours:

20 hours/week during the summer.

14 hours/week if continued in the fall and spring semesters.

We expect you to work in the office instead of at home.
